Utzinger vignerons: Matthius and Lauren. “The adventure of cultivating our own grapes began in 2018. With five clones of Pinot Noir, six clones of Chardonnay, some Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah, our vineyard is planted at a high density of 6500 vines a hectare and a row spacing of 1.8m. The rich, ferrous top soil contains large volumes of dolerite pebbles and lays on top of a heavy clay subsoil, which acts as a natural sponge for water and nutrients. Our wines are crafted with maximum care and minimal intervention in order to truly represent their origin.” *only pre-booked tastings please

In the summer of 1979, an indefatigable Cypriot and a Californian dreamer began crafting Marion’s Vineyard from an overgrown block of impenetrable bush and rock. Marion and Mark were pioneers of the cool, beautiful and fertile Tamar River valley. Our family is still here, the second generation is working alongside the first, and the third are enjoying the farming life. Wine by tastings, glass and bottle plus a selection of Tasmanian cheeses and charcuterie meats are available to enjoy (no BYO food and drinks please).

We are a wife and husband team that wanted to move to the Tamar Valley was because of the artisan small producers in our area that create all sorts of goodies- cheeses, charcuterie, condiments, sourdough and beautiful fresh produce.
We grow Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay and Shiraz along with Fragola for our wines and unique gins. We also grow Golden Delicious and Pink Lady apples for our craft ciders and hops for our very session-able pale ale.
Our Cellar Door is open for wine tastings, gin paddles and our local produce platters.
Lunch bookings are strictly essential.
